From Jogja, we headed to the East Java. The 2nd big city in the island of Java, Surabaya or Soerabaia. The classic spelling. I planned for both Mid Java and East Java thinking that would be awesome to have conquered all major parts of Java.. Well yeah, from someone who never visited Jakarta and never will. Lol. But who knows..
My Arjuna is in Bandung. I'll be there again for sure.
So from the tourist village Lorong or lane, yes the small street is lane. Haha I'm so dumb. We walked to Tugu train station. Which is just 5 - 10 minutes on foot. That was the time I regret for not buying the backpack that I want so much. Damn damn damn. I hate trolley bag cuz I'm an adventurous kinda travel. Not those classy girl with LV luggages who never walk carrying her bag.
Sort of.
So I was with my Roxy duffel bag I got from Bali. Feeling sorry for myself. Then we got into the station and oh yeah.. A subway awaits! That time I felt very sorry for my sister with her trolley bag.. Which weighed.. You don't wanna know.
We had hard time getting into our coach. The train girl said the executive class was at the very front. It's the 1st coach behind the locomotive. I didn't see any locomotive. Hahaha how would I know the locomotive would be attached later.. I never board a train before.. Well except those metro, subway, monorails. :p
And remembered the sunset at Malioboro . That was the west, of the East should be the left side of the Tugu station. The train was Sancaka Pagi and it leaves for Surabaya daily at 7:30 am. We got the ticket from our travel agent, Cha Cha Tours since I couldn't book the ticket on my own. It seems like to book a ticket from the site, it required credit card issued in Indonesia.
It was raining. Very cloudy but I still enjoyed the ride. I was eager to see the view. This is one of the view where the house were built very close to the railway. Some with fence, and some are not.
Yes paddy field all the way. There were never a place where you can see nothing at all. And of course everywhere is occupied.
Ticket inspection time!
Hey that's Travie! Reminded me of Oki. Whom I talked the day before while in Jogja.
I didn't get the chance to go to a bookstore in Malioboro. To get some local novel.. Lucky I have a secret hobby, reading maps. This is my travel buddy.
Below this cup holder there were 2 power sockets. Wow. Didn't know about that. That's my fave Teh Sosro and local choc bar. I skipped the heavy breakfast, there were couples of food trip where the canteen staff bringing some food so that we don't have to go the train cafe.
Some areas were flooded.
Fascinated with every stops.
1st time a train rider. lol. Collecting a lot of 1st times in Indo.
Finally arrived in Surabaya. Approximately 5 hours! Didn't sleep, didn't get bored.
Now let's continue on Part 3!
