My Java Trip 2014 Part 3

Arrived in Surabaya we were greeted by our tour guide and the driver. The tour guide, Pak Yono looked younger than Pak Daniel in Jogja. Dad automatically clicked with Pak Yono. He loves talking about they city, the administration and the current political scene. I found him very polite and quite balance. He didnt give his opinion extremely. There were humble.

So from the train station, around 15 mins driving, we had our lunch at local restaurant. Restoran Ria Galleria. Had Java style rice again... Rice everyday! But I limit my rice intake for like 1 - 2 scoops per time. Lol. Still fat :p

Me and the best kopi es I had during the trip.

Owh, the satay was so niceeeee! So from Surabaya, we headed to Bromo. Around 3 - 5 hours journey. Luckily this trip, the traffic was smooth. Didn't see much macet like last time in West Java.

The tour guide suggested us to stop by Tanggulanggin for a little shopping. We went to leather shop and local tailor cuz mom wanted to get some Jubah. Didn't find the Jubah, but found some nice hijab. I bought a red one for my boss haha lol she bought me pairs of cute hair clips for I thought to buy her something. I bought a nice grayish purple-ish hijab for myself.

For Eid. Or for whenever I'm ready.

Around 7 pm of course it was already dark and so cold. So we stopped for dinner since not much diners around Bromo. The hotel has a restaurant but the tour guide said the food was limited. Read on the internet it was actually terrible. So we stopped by this local rumah makan just beside the main road. The main road to get to Bali. Wow! I miss Bali.

This is my Nasi Empal Bali. Not bad!

We arrived at the hotel, Nadia Hotel around 9 pm. It was freezing cold. It was already uphill. I had this imagination that the place was so deserted but it wasn't that deserted. Along the way, there were houses beside the road. Not so secluded but yes, very quite.

The room was a bit simple. I don't believe in the power supply. My sister tried to charge her phone but we saw a slight flash when she put the plug in. So we decided not to charge anything. Luckily I did charged my EOS battery last nite at 1001 Malam.

We slept earlier since the wake up call was 3 am the next morning. With 4x4 we went up to Bromo. Cold and excited.
The stalls just under the lookout view point. We were actually in Gunung Penanjakan. It was as high as 3000 km above sea level. I'll edit this later. During the journey, we can see the city below. It was so scenic and beautiful.

Me and my sister. Seriously cold. I had hot milo to keep me warm for a while. Behind was Pak Yono looking so garang. Lol

It wasn't cloudy but the fog was too thick. Could not see the sunrise clearly and the whole mountains a below. Yes, Bromo and Semeru. :( sad..

The only clear view.. Chill...

Not ours. Walked down to our jeep and headed down to Bromo.

This is Bromo.

People came here usually to check out the crater at the back. Some may walk or some may take a horse ride. We didn't. Cuz still need to take the stairs. Excuse my hair and my face, technically I didn't shower yet.

Blonde is sexy!!

But I prefer brunette.. ;)
So we headed to the Teletubbies hill. Don't ask me why. But the panorama was spectacular. I never been to NZ .. But this seems like NZ I saw on TV.

My family minus my brother.

So beautiful.

Pre-wedding photography here. Please pleaseee. lol

I love those purple flower.

Close-up!

Our ride.

This is Pantai Pasir Berbisik. So pretty. And no, this is not the beach. So the area around Bromo, we have this unique landscape.. No plants.. Just sand. Then the area with plants and purple flower, then the white bunga lalang, then the Teletubbies hill.
We then return to our hotel passing through the hill village. Very pretty, I had no chance to take pictures .. And the vegetable farms was really pretty. The crops were in pattern. Like songket. Seriously.. I regret not having the chance to get some pictures, but the road was so small and steep. It was pretty dangerous.

Okay then, as if back in the hotel to get shower and ready for the next journey. Taman Safari Prigen, here we come!

Xoxo,
Amy

Better Man

Waitin', watchin' the clock, it's four o'clock, it's got to stop Tell him, take no more, she practices her speech As he opens the door, she rolls over... Pretends to sleep as he looks her over She lies and says she's in love with him, can't find a better man... She dreams in color, she dreams in red, can't find a better man... Can't find a better man Can't find a better man Ohh... Talkin' to herself, there's no one else who needs to know... She tells herself, oh... Memories back when she was bold and strong And waiting for the world to come along... Swears she knew it, now she swears he's gone She lies and says she's in love with him, can't find a better man... She dreams in color, she dreams in red, can't find a better man... She lies and says she still loves him, can't find a better man... She dreams in color, she dreams in red, can't find a better man... Can't find a better man Can...

The Art of Henry Binns

( this one inspired by Carrie Bradshaw ) I have a little bad habit. I tend to get away from routine whenever I failed in a relationship. And when I say the routine, it was my job. My first job took place in PJ and after 3 years of servicing, I got to bump into my ex-soulmate everyday on the way to the office. I was waiting for my feeder bus and he was waiting for his shuttle bus. It was okay at first, I began to change my arrival schedule. But there was one evening, I was out of the office and there I saw him, was getting out of his shuttle in front of my office building.. looking and smiling at me, I knew I should get a new job. And I got one. It was in KL. Far away from him and his shuttle bus. And when I was in KL, I had my Nabil to accompany me everytime I had to stay back and sometimes on to work on weekend. All the desk and chair smell of him. And when we didnt work out, I felt like to get a fresh start.. I couldnt wait to get new job. ( moreover the contract would be finished an...
